Rahaautomaattiyhdistys or just RAY is Finland’s Slot Machine Association which has exclusive rights to control country’s gambling operations. It’s planned to offer internet services soon. So that to link up with appropriate software provider Rahaautomaattiyhdistys had launched a tender and after finishing the process it granted the contract to Playtech.

In 1938 the RAY was founded. Now it controls more than 19,000 slots in quite more than 8,400 places across Finland. Also it presents 300 casino games based on clubs and runs the Grand Casino Helsinki, the country’s single casino. Revenues of RAY in 2009 were €651 million. Issued to RAY license was altered in February 2010 by the Finnish Government, according to which RAY can offer internet gambling services. It’s expected to be started in the 3rd quarter of 2010.

Playtech has got an exclusive 4-year contract. Rahaautomaattiyhdistys will offer internet casino and online poker with the help of the Playtech software platform. Playtech will propose its EdGE platform of gaming for the internet casino games. This platform was created and owned by GTS or Gaming Technology Solutions Limited. Recently Playtech got this when it obtained the whole share GTS capital. Playtech software will also propose RAY its capabilities of mobile gaming.

Chief Executive Officer of Playtech, Mor Weizer marked out that this successful bid for the contract of RAY was further evidence of the Playtech product superiority. Playtech has a successful enabling of land-based operators to create internet gaming services in markets which have just entered regulation.

Mor Weizer said that RAY is a highly experienced and respected operator which welcomed by Finnish gamblers and the whole community. He added that they waited very much working with them to make better the highly active and important gaming market of Finland. And the unique gambler management tools given by Playtech will perfectly help RAY in getting its philosophy of trustworthy and responsible gaming to the internet domain.

Executive Director of RAY gaming operations, Janne Perakyla, made clear some of their requirements to the software provider. As RAY is a national internet gaming service supplier the onus of performing the regulatory authority conditions and checking gambler IDs is all which greater. Besides, RAY possessed its own gaming selection’s requirements and responsible gambling. So RAY says that Playtech not just fulfilled all requirements but also had the perfect solutions for the challenges and it was clear through their formal tender process. There were three specifically mentioned factors: the most safe and reliable online service, a constantly developing gaming selection and the best user support.
